Dramatic Pictures of Fulham Road Building Collapse

Diversions continue due to "dangerous structure"

These dramatic pictures, taken by local resident Nina Keleher, show the scene on Fulham Road on the evening of Sunday January 23, when a section of a four storey building collapsed without warning.

The building, which stretches between Redcliffe Garden and Gunter Grove is currently empty and was being redeveloped by the Thornsett Group to create new houses and flats.

A month later however, the building is still sealed off, and though the opposite side of Fulham Road has been reopened to traffic, the near side is still closed, with diversions remaining for traffic going east, including local buses on routes 14, 414 and 211 from Fulham.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, just yards away on Fulham Road, has also advised patients and visitors to allow extra time for their journeys.

Transport for London says diversions are in place until further notice.

After the collapse, a spokesman for the Thornsett Group said that engineers were investigating the incident and confirmed there had been no injuries.
