Traffic Chaos after Building Collapses on Fulham Road


Diversions still in place due to "dangerous structure"

Travellers on Fulham Road and the surrounding area are still running into delays and diversions following the collapse of a building on the borders of Chelsea and Fulham.

The four storey building, which stretches between Redcliffe Garden and Gunter Grove is currently empty and being redeveloped by the Thornsett Group to create new houses and flats.

There were no workmen at the site when a central section of the building collapsed around 3.45pm on Sunday January 23.

People waiting at the bus stop directly in front of the collapsed section of the building had a lucky escape as a bus picked them up shortly before the incident

A spokesman for the Thornsett Group said that engineers were investigating the incident and confirmed there had been no injuries.

On the evening of Saturday January 29, traffic on New Kings Road and other local streets is gridlocked as this section of Fulham Road remains sealed of due to a "dangerous structure".  Bus routes 14, 414 ands 211 are all affected with alternative routes operation. Passengers can expect delays to their journeys.
