Local Musicians Invited to Join Fulham Symphony Orchestra


Players of around Grade 8 standard and above welcome to take part in local concerts

Fulham Symphony Orchestra is inviting local musicians to join its ranks and take part in regular local concerts.

The orchestra says currently have vacancies for these instruments:

Violin
viola
cello
double bass
trombone

The orchestra says: "If you’re interested in joining us we’d love to hear from you. Please use the contact form below or email Helen at membership@fso.org.uk.

"We welcome new players of around Grade 8 standard or above. Our current players range from amateurs playing at a professional standard, to those who have taken up their instrument again after a few years off. If in doubt, just get in touch!

"We need all of our players to make a real commitment to rehearsals and concerts, so please have a look at the Commitment and Attendance section on the members’ page to see what our expectations are.

"New members of the orchestra join us on a trial basis, with membership confirmed on completion of a successful first term."

Rehearsals are in Hammersmith at Novotel London West (entrance on Chalk Hill Road, off Shortlands, W6 8DR). on Monday evenings for nine weeks before each concert (except for bank holidays when we rehearse on Tuesdays).

The rehearsal schedule normally includes sectional rehearsals with coaching from well-established tutors.

Fulham Symphony Orchestra's next concert, at St John’s Smith Square on Saturday 18 November, features music by Strauss, Bartok, Martinu and Suk. Concerts at Hammersmith Town Hall will follow in spring and summer 2018.
