Petros Singers Present 'A Carnival of Animals'

An eclectic mix of creature-based choral works

The next concert by the Petros Singers is A Carnival of Animals. It will be an eclectic mix of creature-based choral works including Horovitz’ evergreen cantata Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo, the crazy Animal Crackers by Eric Whitacre, and Saint-Seans’ Carnival of the Animals arranged for piano duet, alongside madrigals and songs by the likes of Gibbons, Lassus, Stanford and others celebrating all things zoological.

The event is sponsored by Horton and Garton estate agents.

The choir will be joined by pianists Yoon-Seok Shin and Matthew McCombie. Award-winning South Korean Pianist Yoon-Seok Shin graduated from the Royal College of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Dance and Music, London studying under Andrew Ball and Philip Fowke.
Pianist Matthew McCombie engages in a wide range of activities including performing as a soloist and accompanist, collaborating with composers, and educational work. Matthew regularly travels internationally and has performed with leading conductors.

The performance takes place on Saturday 1 July at 7.30pm at St Michael and All Angels Church, Bedford Park, Chiswick, W4

Tickets cost £17 (concessions £15). For under 18s and students (all seating areas) the cost is £5. They can be bought online with no booking fee charged or by emailing tickets@petrossingers.org.

Petros Singers is an auditioned chamber choir based in Hammersmith. Their repertoire is wide and diverse and they regularly collaborate with top class professional soloists and ensembles. Concerts are usually held in West or Central London, occasionally further afield. Though the choir is small in number, Petros Singers do like to hear from potential members via the choir’s website or membership@petrossingers.org.
