Candlelit celebration of modern settings of texts from medieval literature
On Saturday 10 December, at 7.30pm in St Peter's Church, Black Lion Lane, Petros Singers’ candlelit concert features Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, pieces by Rutter, Howells, Walton and Leighton and other favourites.
This celebration of modern settings of texts from medieval literature will be directed by Richard Bannan, with Tanya Houghton [harp] and Andrew Wells [organ].
As well as Britten’s composition the music includes a selection of pieces by Rutter, Howells, Walton and Leighton. There will also be traditional carols for audience and mulled wine with mince pies.
Tickets cost £15 [£10 Concessions] in advance and £17 [£12 Concessions] on the door.

Petros Singers is an auditioned chamber choir based in Hammersmith. Their repertoire is wide and diverse and they regularly collaborate with top class professional soloists and ensembles. Concerts are usually held in West or Central London, occasionally further afield. Though the choir is small in number, Petros Singers do like to hear from potential members via the choir’s website or membership@petrossingers.org.
