Start the festive season with carols at St Peter’s Church
Get the festive season off to a great start by joining the Petros Singers for their candlelit concert featuring a selection of old favourites and contemporary treats. Composers include Bob Chilcott, Carson Cooman, Goldschmidt, Hadley, Carl Rutti, Philip Stopford and Victoria.
'Star of Light' takes place at St Peter’s Church, Black Lion Lane, W6 9BEon Sunday December 8th beginning at 7.30pm.
Mince pies and mulled wine will be served before the concert from 7:00pm and during the interval. Bring your friends and family along, join in with the audience carols and be part of this celebratory occasion.
The choir consists of around 35 auditioned singers. The standard is high and rising. Their repertoire is diverse, from major oratorios to exquisite unaccompanied miniatures.
They rehearse every Tuesday evening during term time from 8:00 to 9:45 pm in St Peter’s Church, Black Lion Lane, on the borders of Hammersmith and Chiswick (Stamford Brook or Ravenscourt Park tubes).
The choir was founded in 1983 as St Peter’s Singers, having emerged from members of the eponymous church choir looking to perform a wider repertoire. Previous conductors were Christopher Bracewell, Mark Lowther and (from 1990) Michael Emery, Senior Producer of the BBC Singers.
