Barons Court Theatre Presents New Mystery The Red Envelope

Followed by The Magicaian's Hat, interactive exhibition raising funds for Essex hospice

Barons Court Theatre presents an intriguing new mystery from the very popular Kensington Drama Company, for five days only, from 13 - 17 March.

An envelope packed with the detritus of a young relationship, abandoned and unearthed years later. The author unknown - the relationship (with its ridiculous pet-names) long forgotten. The Red Envelope is a new piece inspired by this discovery, an exploration of the intensity, fascination, imbalance, regret of love.

Four friends reminisce on their wild final year at University – relationships blossom and wither, friendships develop and stall. Jaffa Cakes play a pivotal role. An energetic comedy about growing up and that awkward age when you realise you just don't quite know as much as you thought you did.

This is followed by a special event called The Magician's Hat. Part of London Hat Week 2018, this is an interactive exhibition of themed hats, art and performance magic using hats used by magicians of the past, present and future - with all proceeds going to St Helena Hospice in Colchester in Essex.

ll interactive magic hats, futuristic hats, optical illusion hats and hats from the exquisite magical past are all hand created by multi award winning designer and Miliner Jennifer Rowley.

The interactive Side Show magic is presented by magical creator, artist and presenter, Richard Leigh. You can take part in ‘The Wishing Hat’, ‘The Angel or Devil Hat’ and what is the image reflected in the ‘Anamorphisis Hat’.

Writer, magician and artist Jay Fortune combines iconic imagery of celebrated contemporary characters of a magical persuasion with his unique expressive style of art which explores the stature of ‘The Top Hat’ and ‘The Magician’

Each performance takes 30 minutes to walk around and take part in. Each performance is limited to 15 people. The venue is intimate and has been a theatre of magic for the past 15 years in London.

Proceeds for this event are donated to charity through an incentive celebrating its 10th year pioneered by Jay and Richard called Magic Moments.

All proceeds from this event go to Jennifer’s charity of choice which is the St Helena Hospice in Colchester, Essex.
