Ghostly Goings On at Barons Court Theatre

Chilling double bill of Bram Stoker and Henry James

CP Theatre Productions are staging a season of Goths, Ghosts and Ghouls productions at Barons Court Theatre. The first in this series, running from November 15 till Sunday November 27 is a double bill featuring two of the best examples of the genre.

The two plays are:

"THE JUDGE'S HOUSE" by Bram Stoker. As a curtain raiser, the company present the disquieting story of a student who rents an old house in a quiet English village...and wishes he hadn't.

Performed by Scott Williams

"THE TURN OF THE SCREW" by Henry James. The classic ghost story of the evil pair, Quinn and Miss Jessel, the children and an increasingly frightened governess, which has thrilled readers for over a century.

The cast are:

Miss Grey - Helen Millwood

Mrs Grose - Alison Liney

Flora - Frances Knox

Miles - Kristy Bruce

Crimond - Geoff Sloan

PERFORMANCES: Tuesdays - Sundays at 7.30pm

ADMISSION: £12 (£8 CONCESSIONS)

Barons Court Theatre is at the Curtains Up at 28a Comeragh Road, London W14.

To buy tickets, contact the box office on 0208 932 4747 or email londontheatre@gmail.com stating performance date and number of tickets required.

CP Theatre is also calling on all budding playwrights to get creepily creative. In May 2012 the company will be staging 2 pieces of New Writing at the Barons Court Theatre, so if you have ever fancied seeing your work on stage, now is your opportunity.

The theme for the season is Goths, Ghosts and Ghouls so your play must have a ghostly, spooky element, but CP Theatre say what that is exactly is entirely up to you.

The play must be no longer than 45 minutes, must include a cast of at least 4 actors and must be an original piece never before performed in the UK. Most importantly it must fit into the Barons Court playing space of 14'x11' e.g. anything that begins with a panoramic view of the Serengeti is unlikely to be considered!

Plays must be submitted by Saturday December 31 to Artistic Director Andrew Cleaver at andrew@cp-theatre.org.uk. Contact Andrew on the same email if you require any further information.
