Public urged not to approach Fida Mohammed Utmanzi
Police are urgently appealing for information after a man absconded from a medical facility in Edmonton on Monday 8th March.
Fida Mohammed Utmanzi aged 20 absconded from North London Clinic, Church Street, Edmonton at 7:23pm.
Officers were notified by the hospital shortly after and enquiries to trace the man continue.
Utmanzi was born in Afghanistan and was last seen wearing black adidas pants with white stripes on the sides; a navy blue hooded top and grey trainers. He is 6ft 1 inch tall, thin with short black hair. He is also known to have cigarette burns on his arms.
He has previous connections to the Tottenham, Fulham and Putney areas of London. He has also spent time in Newcastle.
He was detained under the mental health act indefinitely after being convicted of the manslaughter of Rasool Khan at the Old Bailey on the 8th January 2010. Rasool was stabbed to death at an address on West Green Road, N15 on the 3rd March 2009.
Members of the public are advised not to approach Fida, but to call police immediately on 999 (if you want to leave information and require an interpreter that service is also available) . Alternatively if anyone has seen him previously or has information that could assist the search they are asked to call detectives on 07717 483 332.
