Hanwell Schoolgirl has been missing from home for two weeks

Hanwell and many other parts of Ealing are expected to be covered in yellow ribbons today (Thursday 11th September) as the community join together in their efforts to Find Alice.

It's two weeks since 14-year-old Alice Gross left her home in Hanwell (Thursday 28th August) - she hasn't been seen since.

The Brentside student was caught on CCTV at 16:23 near Trumpers Way Canal Bridge in Hanwell. Her bag has been found but there have been no further clues as to where the teenager could be.

Throughout the last fortnight there has been a heavy police presence throughout W7 and police divers have been searching the canal.

Two men have been questioned regarding her disappearance , a 51-year-old was released with no further action and a 25-year old man was released on bail.

There has been a huge local campaign with thousands of posters distributed throughout the borough and beyond by hundreds of volunteers, others have made use of various social media platforms including Facebook and twitter (#FindAlice), to highlight the case.

Local businesses including the Little Art Room in Hanwell and the flower stall in west Ealing have donated metres of yellow ribbon which will today be tied round trees, lamposts and placed in shop windows. Brentside High School, where Alice is a pupil, and Alec Reed Academy will both be holding a Yellow Ribbon Day.

The yellow ribbon is an international symbol for missing people and Alice's parents and sister have thanked the community for all their support.

Alice's mum, Rosalind Hodgkiss, has written on the Find Alice Facebook page:

'' We have been out briefly and have been really touched by the astonishing number of yellow ribbons for Alice. Thank you so much for all your support. Let's hope that today is the day that we ?#‎FindAlice?.''
