A week since her disappearance police release video of last known movements
One week on from the disappearance of 14-year-old Alice Gross police continue to appeal for information as to her whereabouts.
Seven days on from her disappearance detectives have released CCTV footage taken on the day Alice went missing as she walked alone along the Grand Union Canal tow path in the vicinity of the Holiday Inn at Brentford Lock, TW8.
This is believed to be the last known sighting of her and detectives are releasing the footage in the hope it jogs the memory of anyone who had been walking along the towpath between 1.30pm and 5.30pm on Thursday 28 August.
Police have also found a bag alongside the towpath alongside the River Brent belonging to Alice. This bag is a rucksack which contained some of Alice's personal property and has been identified by the family. It was found on Tuesday, 2 September.
Alice was seen wearing a rucksack style bag in the CCTV whilst out walking in the River Brent area and officers are appealing to any witnesses who may have seen her wearing a purple rucksack or seen this bag in the area on or after the day she went missing.
Alice was last seen by her family at 1pm on Thursday, 28 August, when she left her home address in Hanwell. She told her family she would be home that evening, but she did not return.
She was captured on CCTV at 2.23pm walking alone on the Grand Union Canal tow path heading in the direction of the Kew. Alice was later captured at the same point along the tow path at 3.45pm heading in the direction of Hanwell. Enquires continue to establish if there are any further sightings of Alice after this point.
Alice is white, 5 ft 2ins tall and of very slim build with shoulder-length, light brown hair. When last seen, she was wearing dark blue jeans and a dark green lacy cardigan. She was carrying a dark rucksack and may have been wearing denim blue 'Vans' shoes and tartan-framed spectacles.
In the CCTV footage it appears that she has taken the cardigan off and is wearing a dark grey t-shirt. Police are especially concerned as Alice has not been in good health recently.
Police will be out appealing for information along the tow path today (Thursday, 4 September) between 1pm and 6pm in the hope someone will be able to provide them with the vital information they require to locate Alice.
