An Afternoon With Gyles Brandreth

(…because Just a Minute wouldn’t be enough)

Join broadcaster, author, One Show reporter and Radio 4 regular Gyles Brandreth for an afternoon of wit, wisdom and wordplay at one of his favourite places, WWT London Wetland Centre.

Gyles is never short of a word or two, which is hardly surprising given his varied career and connections as a politician and broadcaster. He has recently been recounting tales from the worlds of entertainment and politics in his one man show and he brings the highlights from his sell-out tour to London Wetland Centre. Gyles's mischieviousness and wit spares no-one, from the Duke of Edinburgh to Lady Gaga.

Gyles began his career as a broadcaster and fashion icon on TV-am and, with very little hesitation but with much deviation, he has had many varied and successful careers including time as a government whip and author of 'The Joy of Lex'. He is now one of Britain's most sought-after award ceremony hosts and after-dinner speakers. Gyles is a writer and broadcaster and a regular on BBC's The One Show and Radio 4's Just a Minute. His acclaimed Victorian detective stories - The Oscar Wilde Murder Mysteries - are published in twenty-one countries around the world.

Gyles is a keen supporter of WWT London Wetland Centre and launched their 10th anniversary celebrations last year with an impeccable impression of a Canada goose. Proceeds from his talk on Sunday July 3 will help WWT's vital conservation work at London Wetland Centre and in wetlands around the world.

The afternoon begins with Gyles recounting tales about his life in Westminster and showbusiness, followed by a Q&A session. At 4pm drinks will be served in our beautiful Observatory, where Gyles will mingle with guests.

Tickets are £20 for WWT members and £25 for non-members and must be booked in advance - call 020 8409 4400. Price includes one glass of wine or a soft drink per adult.

The wine has generously been donated by Yali.
