Cinema hoping Christopher Nolan film will encourage movie fans back
Vue cinema Westfield.
Vue Westfield in Shepherd's Bush has reopened with a new look and a new way of greeting audiences but few new releases to show them
They are therefore grateful that their relaunch comes just as the much anticipated Christopher Nolan film Tenet is ready to be shown. Film-goers will be able to see Tenet at all Vue sites from its release date, on Wednesday 26 August including the cinema in the West 12 Centre which is due to be open by then.
John David Washington stars in the sci-fi action film alongside the likes of Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Clémence Poésy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, with Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh.
Armed with only one word - Tenet - and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist (Washington) journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.
Vue encourage you to book online in advance and aim to make the visit as contactless as possible.
Film start and end times have been staggered to maintain physical distancing and reduce the number of people at any one time in the foyer and corridors.
Physical distanced seating meeting government guidelines has been built into the booking system so that you and those in your booking are automatically seated apart from others
Anyone attending a film screening is required to provide the name and contact information of the lead guest in their party for the purposes of the NHS Track & Trace initiative.
Hand sanitiser will be available throughout the cinema for both customers and staff members and staff will wear PPE.
Enhanced cleaning measures will be implemented including disinfecting every screen, including every arm rest, between each screening, with additional cleaning time made available for this.
Steve Wallace, General Manager at Vue Westfield (Shepherd’s Bush), said: “We’re delighted to reopen our doors to the public. Now more than ever, the ability to switch off from the outside with a great story is needed, and we can’t wait to bring the epic tale of Tenet to film-goers with the ultimate seat, screen and sound.
“In addition, film lovers can be reassured that they can enjoy Tenet and other films as safely as possible, thanks to a range of new measures in place such as enhanced cleaning protocols, reduced touchpoints within the site, physically distanced seating and staggered film times.”
