TfL Boss Thanks Londoners for Their Patience
While talks continue to avert next week's tube strike
Transport for London Managing Director Mike Brown has thanked Londoners for their patience during the last two days of disruption.
TfL says staff on Tube, Bus, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway, Tramlink, River and rail services, as well as our Travel Ambassadors from across the network, worked hard to get people to their destinations.
The second 48 hour strike on London Underground, which has been called by the RMT and TSSA unions, is planned for next week.
If the strike goes ahead, Tube services will be affected from about 9.30pm on Tuesday February 11 and would not return to normal until the morning of Friday February 14.
On Wednesday and Thursday, limited services will start later and finish earlier than usual, with trains running from around 7am to 11pm.
In an email to customers, Mike Brown adds: " We are in talks with the unions to try to avoid this further disruption; I hope we can now make real progress towards modernising the Tube."
