Forthcoming Disruption on Public Transport


Tubes and trains services affected by engineering work

During the coronavirus outbreak do not use public transport unless your journey is essential.

Due to the Covid-19 virus, the following service changes will be in place until further notice:

  • No Circle or Waterloo & City line service,
  • No Night Tube or Night Overground service,
  • A reduced service is operating on all London Underground, London Overground, DLR, TfL Rail and London Trams.
  • Some stations will be closed. 

Public transport is only for key workers to travel to and from work.

TfL says this information changes frequently. Check before you travel.

The track closure programme is changing regularly because of the restriction of work sites due to Covid-19, therefore check regularly for the latest information.

Sunday 26 April

All lines in the Twickenham area will be closed all day Sunday for maintenance work.

Trains between London Waterloo and Reading will be diverted to run via Hounslow.
An hourly train service will run between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton Riverside. Trains will be diverted between Barnes and Feltham, calling at Hounslow.
The circular train service via Kingston will be altered to run between London Waterloo and Shepperton via Wimbledon.
A shuttle train service will run between London Waterloo and Richmond.
Buses will run between Richmond and Hounslow, connecting with the diverted Reading and Windsor services.
Buses will run between Richmond and Teddington, connecting with trains to and from Shepperton.
The afternoon and evening services between London Waterloo and Kingston via Hounslow will not run. Please use other train services and the replacement buses.
Trains to and from Woking via Hounslow and Staines will run as normal.



20 April - 25 April 2020

Engineering work is taking place between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction, closing various lines overnight from Monday evening until Saturday morning.

Monday evening until Friday morning: From 10pm (Monday to Thursday) until the end of service, trains will be unable to run to / from Milton Keynes Central, and will run to a revised timetable. Friday evening until Saturday morning: The 10.17pm Selhurst to Watford Junction service will terminate at Shepherd's Bush.

The 11.42pm Watford Junction to Clapham Junction service will not run, and will be replaced by the 00:06am (Saturday) service from Shepherd's Bush to Clapham Junction.

Ticket acceptance: Valid tickets can be used on Southern services to / from London Victoria, London Underground services between London Victoria and London Euston, and London Northwestern Railway services between London Euston and Watford Junction / Milton Keynes Central.

Check before you travel: You can plan your journey using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner Although journey planners are showing correct, your journey may be subject to alteration at short notice due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Please check before your journey.
