Disruption on Public Transport over Easter


Tubes and trains affected by engineering works

Easter weekend - Friday 30 March to Monday 2 April

Buses replace trains in the Barnes area all weekend Good Friday 30 March to Holiday Monday 2 April

South Western Railway will run the Saturday service pattern on Good Friday and the Holiday Monday, except as altered for engineering work shown below. Some early morning services will be altered to fit in with other operators running a different service pattern.

Some lines between Vauxhall and Clapham Junction and all lines between Clapham Junction and Barnes will be closed from Good Friday to the Holiday Monday

All lines in the Barnes area will be closed on Easter Sunday .

South Western Railway services will use platforms 5 to 8 at Vauxhall and platforms 7 to 11 at Clapham Junction. Trains may leave London Waterloo from different platforms to normal - please check displays at station.
Queenstown Road station will have no service and passengers should use other stations nearby.

Most trains will run to and from London Waterloo but may run to revised timetables . Some services may also be affected by work elsewhere.
Please check your journey details before travelling.

The following services will be altered as shown below and passengers may need to change trains or use buses to complete their journeys.

Good Friday, Saturday and Holiday Monday service

  • Trains between London Waterloo and Reading will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, also calling at Kingston.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton Riverside will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, calling at all stations via Wimbledon and Kingston.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Shepperton will run to a revised timetable to fit in with the above services.
  • Two trains an hour will run between Barnes and Kingston via Twickenham.
  • Train services will run between Barnes and Weybridge via Hounslow and Staines.
  • A shuttle bus service will run between Clapham Junction and Barnes.
  • The circular services to and from London Waterloo via Kingston, also via Brentford and Twickenham will not run . Please use other train services and replacement buses.

Easter Sunday service

  • Trains between London Waterloo and Reading will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, also calling at Wimbledon and Kingston.
  • An hourly train service between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton Riverside will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, calling at all stations via Wimbledon and Kingston.
  • An hourly train service will run between Richmond and Windsor & Eton Riverside.
  • An hourly train service will run between Richmond and Kingston.
  • Buses will run between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, connecting with the above train services.
  • Train services will run between Kew Bridge and Weybridge via Hounslow and Staines.
  • Buses will run between Clapham Junction and Kew Bridge, connecting with the above train services. Buses will also run between Clapham Junction and Hounslow via Brentford.
  • The circular services to and from London Waterloo via Kingston, also the afternoon and evening services between London Waterloo and Kingston via Hounslow will not run . Please use other train services and replacement buses.

Circle Line

District line

Sunday 15 April

Altered train services in and out of London Waterloo, also replacement buses in the Wimbledon, Surbiton and Kingston areas

Some lines between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction (including about half of London Waterloo station) will be closed all day Sunday .

All lines in the Wimbledon, Surbiton and Kingston areas will also be closed and replacement bus services will run on routes passing through this area.  Alterations for all this work are listed below.

South Western Railway services will use platforms 1 to 4 at Vauxhall. Many trains will leave London Waterloo from different platforms to normal - please check displays at station.
Queenstown Road station will have no service. Please use other stations nearby.
All South Western Railway services will use platforms 3 to 6 at Clapham Junction.

Many train services will run in and out of London Waterloo using the lines and platforms which remain open but will make additional stops or use alternative routes with longer journey times.  Most services will run to revised timetables .
Some long distance services will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Woking with longer journey times.

The following services will be altered as shown below and you may need to change trains to complete your journey.

  • Trains will run between Raynes Park and Guildford via Epsom . You may also use Southern train services between Clapham Junction and Epsom.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Shepperton will run via Richmond instead of via Wimbledon.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Woking via Hounslow and Staines will not run .
  • The circular services to and from London Waterloo via Kingston, also the afternoon and evening services between London Waterloo and Kingston via Hounslow will not run . Please use other train services and replacement buses.

The following replacement bus services will run.

  • Between Clapham Junction and Twickenham via Wimbledon and Kingston.

Sunday 22 April

Buses replace trains between Barnes and Feltham via Hounslow

The lines between Barnes and Feltham via Hounslow will be closed all day Sunday .

  • Trains between London Waterloo and Woking via Staines will be diverted between Barnes and Feltham, calling at Richmond and Twickenham.
  • Bus services will run between Barnes and Feltham via Brentford and Hounslow.
  • The afternoon and evening services between London Waterloo and Kingston via Hounslow will not run . Buses will run between Barnes and Twickenham via Hounslow.
