Piccadilly and Central line services back to normal
Transport for London says the Piccadilly line service has returned to normal on Friday, following yesterday's 24 hour strike by drivers.
The Piccadilly line is now running a Saturday service on Good Friday March 25 as part of the Easter Bank Holiday arrangements, although customers are advised to check before they travel.
Services on the Central line have also returned to normal after the replacement of faulty power supply equipment, which had caused delays earlier this week.
Tfl says on Monday, a fault was found in complex equipment at a London Underground (LU) Substation, which provides the electricity supply to the track. Despite every effort being made to repair the unit, which weighs several tonnes, it had to be completely replaced, with LU engineers working around the clock to get services back to normal as soon as possible.
Peter McNaught, LU's Operations Director for the Central line, says: " I apologise for the disruption that Central line customers experienced due to this fault. This was a complicated problem that required specialist equipment and our engineers have worked to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
"We've now got a full service running on the line, and I thank customers for their patience over the last few days."
Easter engineering works on the Tube, TfL Rail and London Overground will go ahead as planned from Friday March 25. Read details of the works.
