All lines operating for Lord Mayor's Show and Remembrance Sunday
The Lord Mayor’s Show will be taking place in the City and central London on Saturday November 10 and on Sunday November 11 Remembrance Sunday will be marked with a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph on Whitehall.
Transport for London say that in order to support an important weekend for the city, London Underground will not be carrying out any upgrade works in central London across the weekend.
On Remembrance Sunday the Bakerloo, Circle, District, Jubilee, Metropolitan and Victoria lines are all operating and serving all stations near to the Cenotaph, including Westminster, Embankment and Charing Cross. The Central, Northern and Piccadilly lines will also be serving central London that day and, although there are some partial line closures, these will not prevent customers from travelling to and around central London.
There are also no planned works on the Docklands Light Railway or London Tramlink.
Since November 2008 war veterans have been able to travel on the Tube, DLR, Overground, London buses and trams for free with a Veterans Oyster photocard as part of the Mayor’s Veterans concessionary travel scheme.
More than 4,500 Veterans Oyster photocards have been issued. This scheme is of particular benefit to veterans who live in London and are not yet eligible for a 60+ London Oyster photocard or a Freedom Pass.
This year also marks the 89th year of the London Transport Old Comrades Association, who will continue the tradition of marching alongside the armed forces and laying a wreath at the Cenotaph in the annual Remembrance Sunday parade on Novembe 11.
