Transport Disruption this Weekend


Local tube and train services affected by engineering works

If you are planning to travel this weekend, January 21 and 22, please check if any of the following works will affect you.

Central line
On Saturday, there is no service between North Acton and Ealing Broadway in order to improve the track.

Circle line
On Saturday and Sunday, there is no service on the entire line in order to improve the signalling system.

On Saturday and Sunday, Farringdon station is closed in order to improve the station.

District line
On Sunday, there is no service between Earl’s Court and Aldgate East in order to improve the signalling system.

Hammersmith & City line

On Saturday and Sunday, there is no service between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking in order to improve the signalling system.

On Saturday and Sunday, Farringdon station is closed in order to improve the station.

Northern line

On Sunday, before approximately 0830 southbound and 0900 northbound, there is no service between Camden Town and High Barnet/Mill Hill East in order to improve the signalling system.

London Overground

On Saturday and Sunday, there is no service between Richmond and Willesden Junction due to Network Rail re-signalling work.

South West Trains

Saturday January 21 and Sunday 22

All lines between Clapham Junction and Barnes and some lines between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday. South West Trains services will use platforms 5 - 8 at Vauxhall and platforms 7 - 11 at Clapham Junction. Trains may leave London Waterloo from different platforms to normal - please check displays at the station.

Saturday service

  • Trains to and from Reading will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, running via Kingston.
  • Trains to and from Windsor & Eton will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, calling  at all stations via Wimbledon and Kingston.
  • Train services will run between Barnes and Weybridge. These will be the only train services via Brentford and Hounslow.
  • A shuttle train service will run between Barnes and Kingston via Twickenham.
  • A shuttle bus services will run between Clapham Junction and Barnes for local journeys. Passengers for longer distance journeys should, where possible, use the through trains to Reading and Windsor.
  • Queenstown Road station will have no service and passengers should use other stations nearby.


Sunday service

  • Trains to and from Reading will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, running via Wimbledon and Kingston.
  • An hourly service will run between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton. This will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Twickenham, calling  at all stations via Wimbledon and Kingston.
  • An hourly service will run between Barnes and Windsor & Eton.
  • Train services will run between Barnes and Kingston via Twickenham.
  • Train services will run between Barnes and Woking.
  • A shuttle bus services will run between Clapham Junction and Barnes for local journeys. Passengers for longer distance journeys should, where possible, use the through trains to Reading and Windsor.
  • Queenstown Road station will have no service and passengers should use other stations nearby.

Train services between Ascot and Guildford via Aldershot will also be alteredto connect at Ascot with the altered Reading trains.

Due to engineering work taking place elsewhere, a revised service will run between London Waterloo and Hounslow. A train service will run between London Waterloo and Twickenham via Brentford as below. The London Waterloo to Weybridge via Hounslow services will not run.
