Camogie club on the look out for new players
Local camogie team Tara are to start training again during the week starting February 5th. They have both junior and senior teams and welcome players of all standards, from beginners to All-Stars. Their members range in age from 13+ to 40+ years. They are always on the look out for players. Camogie is the ladies equivalent of the Irish men's game, hurling.
Due to the need for specialist facilities to play camogie, players train and play at Greenford which has easy access to Central and Piccadilly lines and overground stations.
We expect League matches to commence early March and we will travel to Erin go Bragh, Birmingham for their Camogie Tournament on Saturday 10 March 2007. The London County camogie team will travel to Tyrone in the National League on Sunday 4 February and we wish all the girls the best of luck.
Congratulations to Tara girls Emma Fitzgerald, Bid Grennan and Mariee O Dwyer for winning a Camogie All-Star 2006.
Club AGM will be held at Hammersmith Irish Centre on Saturday 10 February, from 2pm.
Fundraising Race Night will be on Friday 2 March 2007 at The Leamington Pub, Horn Lane, Acton. First Race 8.30pm. All welcome.
