67 flats to be built on site of former Bechtel offices
Hammersmith and Fulham Council have approved a planning application for the demolition of Kelvin House at 63-75 Glenthorne Road.
The four storey building will be replaced by a seven storey building providing 67 one two and three bedroom flats with 15 car parking spaces.
Fourteen residents objected to the development on grounds of increased parking pressure, degradation of roads and footpaths in Cambridge Grove, loss of outlook from Cambridge Grove, and noise disturbance during construction.
However, eight letters were also received supporting the development.
Council officers decided that the development was a good design and would result in the regeneration of an underused site, close to Hammersmith Town Centre. It would also provide more housing for the area.
The building is currently vacant, but was previously used as an office by Bechtel.
