Public consultation asks for views on how NHS could provide better services
“Healthcare for London: Consulting the Capital” is a formal public consultation to ask Londoners their views on how the NHS in London could provide better, safer, more accessible services over the next ten years.
Hounslow Primary Care Trust is encouraging patients, residents, commuters, representative groups, unions, electoral representatives, staff and anyone who has an interest in, or might use, London health services to have their say.
People can find out more and get involved by:

There is a questionnaire on the website to assist you to comment. Ipsos MORI has been commissioned to receive and analyse all responses to the consultation, which runs until 7 March 2008.
Ipsos MORI will report on its findings on 6 May 2008.
Details of roadshows in other parts of London are on the Healthcare for London website.
The proposals are based on ideas in “Healthcare for London: A Framework for Action”, written by Professor Lord Darzi and published on 11 July 2007 by NHS London. The proposals focus on services from a patient’s point of view. They look at what needs to change to make services safer and more accessible. Also they look at what needs to be done to make Londoners healthier.
The consultation is about a framework. It is not about any individual service or building. If proposals to change a service are put forward in the future they will be subject to a separate discussion, consultation and scrutiny.
Finally, a reminder that the deadline for responding to this consultation is 7 March 2008.
