Hammersmith and Fulham branches saved, but Shepherd's Bush set to close
There is good and bad news for people who bank - and work - at local branches of NatWest this week.
While branches in Hammersmith's King Mall and Fulham Broadway have escaped the axe, Shepherd's Bush is included among the list of 197 NatWest and 62 Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) branches that The Royal Bank of Scotland group has announced it will be closing.
On Friday RBS released the list of the 259 branches.
As well as Shepherd's Bush, they include Acton, Barnes, East Sheen and Earls Court.
Others in west and south west London are Morden, Southfields, Wandsworth, Wimbledon Village and West Ealing.
The closures are part of a general reduction in the number of bank branches as people increasingly choose to bank online.
In Fulham, the Parsons Green branch has already closed its doors. And across the river in Barnes, the NatWest closure means there will be no branch of any bank.
