Camilla shows her artistic side during visit to local cancer care centre

The Duchess of Cornwall showed her creative during a visit to a local cancer care centre.

She was observing an art therapy class at Maggie's Cancer Care Unit, a charity of which she is a patron, at Charing Cross Hospital when she decided to pick up a paint brush and help one of the patients with his piece of artwork.

She joked that her husband, the Prince of Wales, was real artist and she was just "doodling".

The centre at Charing Cross Hospital was the first purpose-built Maggie’s Centre in England and was opened by Nigella Lawson and Sarah Brown on 29th April this year.

The centre is open to anyone affected by cancer in the capital and a place where their family and friends can access the support they need.

Prostate cancer patient Michael Colato from Chiswick spoke about how he "hadn't looked back" since he visited the centre when it first opened. "I have found support, I have found help and I have found friendship," he said. "When you get cancer you are a changed person, but this has been a wonderful place."
