Rugby Star Danny Cipriani Charged with Drink-driving


After crashing his Mercedes into another car on Fulham's Imperial Road

27 year old England and Sale Sharks fly-half Danny Cipriani has been charged with drink-driving after his Mercedes collided with another car in Fulham in June.

Both drivers were unhurt in the collision between his Mercedes and a Toyota in Imperial Road, at about 5.15am on Monday June 1.

At the time Cipriani, who lives in Putney, was breath-tested and taken to a west London police station before being released on bail.

After the incident, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said officers were called to reports of two cars in collision on Imperial Road, Fulham SW6.

She said: "The cars involved were a silver Toyota Prius and a black Mercedes C63, the driver of the Mercedes, a 27-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. He was taken to a west London police station where he was later released on police bail. Return date to be confirmed."

Police have confirmed he was charged on Thursday November 12 and will appear at West London Magistrates' Court on December 10.
