Woman hit by VW Touareg - driver arrested
Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a woman in a traffic collision in Hammersmith.
Police were called at 20:30 on Saturday 16/8/05 to a car in collision with a pedestrian in Glenthorne Road near to the junction with Studland Street.
The pedestrian - a 70-year-old woman - was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police believe they know the identity of the deceased, but they await formal identification.
The vehicle - a silver VW Touareg - initially stopped at the scene, but subsequently drove off. The car was later recovered, unattended, in Hammersmith.
In the early hours of Sunday (17th August) , a 27-year-old woman voluntarily attended a South London police station. She was arrested and bailed to return on a date in November.
