Campaign Steps Up A Gear

As Transport for London agree to meet campaigners

As reported recently a group of Barnes residents, in association with the Barnes Town Centre Manager, are campaigning to get the 22 bus route extended from the Spencer pub at Putney Common into Barnes Village.

Recently Transport for London (TFL) have agreed to meet them and discuss the proposal – so the campaign has stepped up a gear.

The campaigners believe that many residents of Putney, Fulham and Parsons Green would use this route to get to Barnes on one bus. This would make it easier to meet up with friends and family; to visit Wetlands, Olympic Cinema, shops and restaurants; to work in Barnes; and to get children to school. All whilst reducing car congestion and pollution.

The campaigners request that you complete their on-line survey so they can gauge whether people in Barnes and neighbouring communities want this service. Also they need the data to convince TFL of demand.

A spokesperson for the campaigners told this website: "Please visit their website www.bringthe22bustobarnes.com to complete the survey – it only takes a couple of minutes. And do share with friends and family. Thank you!".
