Tickets now on sale for this year's Festival of Books

This year's Brook Green Festival of Books, running from November 11 to 21, has attracted a world class line-up of authors and events.

After last year’s success, the Festival has six more outstanding events kicking off with Lauren St John winner of the Blue Peter Book Award, talking at the Bush Theatre about her unconventional but inspiring childhood in Africa.

The UK’s leading poetry award, The Forward Prize , is putting together an evening of poetry at the Bush Theatre read by wonderful actors such as Lindsay Duncan and Simon Williams.

Alan Johnson MP speaks at Holy Trinity Church about the childhood in the slums of North Kensington that shaped him into the man and politician he is today.

Max Hastings shares his provocative views on the events and people that led to the outbreak of World War I at St Paul's Girls School.

Geordie Greig recalls the stories of sex, scandal and art that Lucian Freud shared with him over years of breakfasting together at Holy Trinity.

Deborah Moggach author of the Most Exotic Marigold Hotel talks about loneliness and love in later life, also at Holy Trinity.

The Festiva, now in its sixth year, l is not for profit: all proceeds support the local work of the charity Beanstalk, which helps children who struggle with reading.

Paul Cosgrover of Brook Green estate agents, Finlay Brewer says: " This is the second year we have supported the Festival. We didn’t think it could get better than last year but this year’s line up is fantastic.
