Opening week celebrations include free entry from Thursday May 2
Black Velvet, West Kensington's live music venue, is opening its doors this Thursday, 2nd May, with a great new mix of music both live and recorded. We'll be bringing you a broad selection from Little Feat to the Clash, Jimi Hendrix to Nirvana, Americana, a touch of old school Swing, Jazz, Funk and the very soulful. Together with some inspiring acts it means you'll never have to leave West Kensington.
To celebrate our opening week we have free entry, and live music of course - some acoustic, blues, country, rock and more on Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th May. Doors open 7pm.
Future acts include Henry Parker playing on Friday 10th May. A 20 year old guitar whizz kid with roots in the past and a vision of the future, he'll be launching his album at Black Velvet that night.
And Cy Curnin, formerly of "The Fixx" known for evocative lyrics and distinctive vocals, playing on Friday 17th May. On Saturday 18th May, Bex Marshall is gracing our stage "at last a woman who plays guitar like a goddess, sings like an angel, writes like Dylan and smiles like the devil" according to Booker T.
