Mediterranean restaurant to open October
The leasehold interest of the Bar 38 in Hammersmith, London, has been sold to Lala Restaurants for an undisclosed sum, according to reports from industry website caterersearch.
Located facing Hammersmith Broadway shopping centre, Bar 38, which is currently closed, is housed in the ground floor and basement of a modern, purpose-built block. The property, previously owned by managed pub company TCG, comprises a ground floor bar with capacity for 300 and a basement bar with capacity for 150.
Lala Restaurants plans to reopen the unit as a Mediterranean restaurant with between 150 and 200 covers, in mid-October, the caterersearch report said. It was sold by Christie & Co acting on behalf of TCG.
Earlier this year, Christie & Co sold the leasehold interests of the Bar Baja in Leeds and the Ivory Lounge in Edinburgh on behalf of TCG to JD Wetherspoon, for undisclosed sums.
