Southbound lanes will be shut and northbound reduced to one lane

Putney's already poor traffic situation looks set to be made worse on one day in particular due to a part closure of Putney Bridge.
It is to be partly closed
from 4am on Sunday 2 February to 4am on Monday 3 February. The southbound side of the bridge
will be shut to general traffic
with alternative routes in place.
The northbound side of the bridge
will be open to traffic but restricted
to one lane only, alternating with
southbound buses, so delays are
expected.
Bus services in both directions
will continue to operate with local
diversions and some delays are
expected. For more information
on bus services during this
time, check Transport for
London’s journey planner: www.tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey
The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists in both directions.
The closure is essential to allow Tideway to safely remove major equipment from their site at Putney Bridge,
which requires them to install and
use a large crane on the south side
of the bridge.
If you have any questions about the closure on Monday 27 January pop over the bridge to
Fulham Football Club, Press Room (Stevenage Road) from 4pm to 8pm where representatives of Tideway will be available.
Tideway have thanked residents for their patience while
they carry out these essential works
and they apologise in advance for
any inconvenience.
