This weekend (Saturday 2nd July) fifteen brand new hybrid double deck buses will start running between Kingston and Putney Bridge on bus route 85.

The latest Euro VI hybrid buses should help reduce NO2 emissions along Putney High Street and in the wider area will be introduced by a new operator, London United (RATP).
Route 85 is a 24-hour service and runs from Kingston (Hall Road) via Norbiton, Kingston Vale, Roehampton Vale, Alton East Estate (towards Putney), Roehampton, Putney Heath and Putney to Putney Bridge.

A Tfl spokesperson said, "Putney High Street is particularly prone to high levels of NO2 because it has a lot of traffic passing through a narrow main road with a hill behind that can trap the fumes".

At the end of November 2016 more new hybrid buses will be on Putney High Street on routes 14 from Warren Street Station to Putney Heath and the 74 from Baker Street to the Putney Exchange.
