Fleur Anderson To Stand At Next General Election


Putney Labour Party selects parliamentary candidate

Putney Labour Party voted at a packed meeting on Saturday (24 November) to select Wandsworth Councillor Fleur Anderson to be their Parliamentary Candidate for the Putney constituency.

Labour have chosen their candidate well ahead of the election due under the Fixed Term Parliament Act in anticipation of an early election being called due to Brexit.

She said, 'I am delighted and honoured to be selected to represent Putney, Southfields and Roehampton for Labour. I've met so many people who want a change in their MP. Some priority issues for local people are what will happen about Brexit, our local housing crisis and cuts to our schools and health services.'

‘Fleur will do a fantastic job representing all of Putney when she is elected’, said Cllr Peter Carpenter, West Hill Labour Councillor.

Fleur, a mother of four, has been a Wandsworth Councillor since 2014. She stood as a councillor to oppose cuts to children's services, and has also been a prominent campaigner for clean air. She currently works as Head of Community Services at the Katherine Low Settlement Community Centre in Battersea, running youth services and projects for elderly people. Fleur spent many years in the charity sector most recently Global Head of Campaigns for WaterAid and previously Head of Campaigns for CAFOD, the Catholic Aid Agency.
