Emergency Blocks Huntingfield Road

Five emergency fire vehicles and two ambulances attend chemical report

Residents were concerned this morning when emergency fire vehicles and two ambulances blocked Huntingfield Road early this morning (10th May).

Ten firefighters were called to investigate reports of a chemical smell at a house on Huntingfield Road in Roehampton on Sunday morning (10th May). The crews came from Wandsworth & Richmond and they entered the end-of-terrace property wearing breathing apparatus. The team removed three fridges from the ground floor and ventilated the property.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade (LFB) told this website: "Crews carried out a sweep of the property to check for any elevated readings of chemicals but found none. One man and one woman left the building before the Brigade arrived and were assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews (LAS)."

A LAS spokesperson told this website that two people were treated at the scene: “We were called at 7.44am today to reports of an incident at a residential address in Huntingfield Road, SW15. We sent an ambulance crew and treated two people at the scene. Neither of the patients were taken to hospital.”

We understand from residents that all emergency services crews left around 9.10am.
