Putney fraudster in court

A court case at West London Magistrates Court yesterday found Mr Keith Shields of Upper Richmond Road Putney SW15 guilty of having ''conned'' a number of local residents and businesses.

Mr Shields, who has 14 previous convictions defrauded ITN of £150,000. Apparently he has run up credit at local take aways not paid washing machine repair men as well as presenting himself as a ''cash'' buyer up to £3m to local estate agents.

He pretends he works in the music business but the court heard the head of the China White night club in central London and the main organiser of the Glastonbury Festival confirm that they had never met Keith Shields.
