17-year-old was on stolen moped being pursued by police in Putney

A seventeen-year-old boy is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a bus while being chased by police this Monday (25 March).
He made off from police at around 1.20am on Putney High Street near the junction with Upper Richmond Road after he saw a police vehicle which was responding to a different incident.
The officers began to follow him and then the moped was in collision with a bus on Upper Richmond Road.
The motorcycle was found to have been reported stolen. As is routine in such cases, the police advised us that the Directorate of Professional Standards have been informed.

Putney High Street was closed to northbound traffic and the Upper Richmond Road was closed in both directions from the junction with Putney High Street.
