Improvements promised for New Kings Road, Hammersmith Road, Dawes Road and Goldhawk Road
Local transport will benefit from a boost in Transport for London funding for the coming year.
More than three million pounds will go to Hammersmith & Fulham to improve road safety, along with walking, cycling and bus routes.
The biggest amount is to be spent on principal road maintenance.
More than £650,000 will be spent on New Kings Road, Hammersmith Road, Dawes Road and Goldhawk Road.
Wood Lane, Shepherds Bush Road, Hammersmith Road, Parfrey Street and New Kings Road will also be made safer with £370,000 to be spent on local safety schemes.
£150,000 will go to the borough’s Home Zones programme.
Home Zones have proven to be a success by reducing traffic and speeds in residential areas and cutting the number of accidents in them.
Funding will also go towards improving cycling routes and making routes to schools safer.
More than £500,000 will be spent on bus priorities and making services more accessible to commuters.
Walking routes in Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush town centres will also be upgraded, while access to Barons Court station will be improved.
Deputy for Environment, Cllr Michael Cartwright said: “This money will help make our borough safer for people to live, work, shop and study in.
“We’re in the process of identifying transport priorities.
“Once that’s done we’ll take them to the public for consultation to ensure the money is spent where it’s needed most.”
