A media statement says that "the council is not in negotiation with QPR, and no plans to expand the ground have been presented to the council."
According to the Evening Standard, the Council has Queens Park Rangers are in negotiations with the Council to increase the capacity of Loftus Road to 28,000, it was published in the Evening Standard.
According to the paper, the plan is to extend the ground, which has a capacity of 19,000, by lifting the roof and building new seats at the Ellerslie Road, Loftus Road, and School End stands. The scheme could also include another 15 hospitality boxes.
The Council says that "this story is simply not true".
But the paper said that “talks are in the early stages, and the club have not yet drafted a planning application, but are confident the scheme could go ahead”.
QPR's majority shareholder Gianni Paladini said to the Evening Standard: “The council are very keen for it to go ahead because they want us to stay in Shepherd's Bush. They contacted us on Tuesday and talks are progressing well.”
