Marking the return of Bugsy Malone to the Lyric by going back to the 1930s
Over 750 shoppers at Hammersmith's Kings Mall were transported back to the 1930s at an all singing, all dancing free Speakeasy Spectacular event during the Bank Holiday weekend.
To celebrate the return of Bugsy Malone, opening at the Lyric this weekend, a mini pop-up cinema showed a singalong version of the original 1970s classic for shoppers to enjoy.
Within an art deco themed photo-booth, visitors donned wigs and props to recreate the glamour of the 1930s.
The centre piece of the event was the under-the-counter bar where contestants were set a series of challenges to win prizes including shopping vouchers and a family ticket to see Bugsy Malone at the Lyric.
Hosting all of these fantastic activities were larger than life characters, Flossy Flo, Tommy Toes and Betsy Blues, alongside a pair of professional swing dancers, who had shoppers young and old, singing, dancing, and celebrating.
