Comedy club launches on November 28

Comedy club Jongleurs is coming to Hammersmith.

The comic chain, which owns ten clubs across the UK, is taking over the Hammersmith Club in Rutland Grove every week from Saturday, November 28.

The opening night will be compered by Bob Mills, and will feature comics Jason Wood, Curtis Walker and Micky Flanagan.

Jongleurs, the company that helped to launch the careers of Eddie Izzard, Lee Evans and Hammersmith's own Bill Bailey says it will provide an evening of food, drink and entertainment in the shadow of London’s most famous flyover.

Rutland Grove is one street back from the Thames, close to Hammersmith Bridge.

Jongleurs founder Maria Kempinska says this new club is the first of many openings. She and partner John Davy formed the chain in 1983, and built it into a big name brand before selling the clubs to Regent Inns.

However, the brand was returned to the founders in October this year when Regent Inns went into administration, giving the founders freedom to begin again expanding the chain.

Maria says: " This is an incredibly exciting time for Jongleurs. We think Hammersmith is the perfect place to begin our expansion and we want everyone to stay tuned as this is just the beginning of something very special."

The shows at the newly restored Hammersmith Club, which holds 300 people will continue through to Christmas on November 28, and December 4, 12 and 18. To book tickets, call 08700 111960.
