With street market, magic, music and pedal car races
St Peter's Harvestival is back this Saturday, October 1 from 10.30am till 3pm.
Twice in the last four years, the Hammersmith community supporting St Peter's Church have transformed the street outside the church, Black Lion Lane, overnight from a quiet backwater to a bustling street market, full of colour, music, food, dancing, gossip, laughter and families.
This Saturday the community are doing it all again. The Hammersmith Hillbillies will perform their own version of live bluegrass music while families explore the street market sampling the delicious food and drinks on offer.
Meanwhile magician Christian Grace will be entertaining the crowds with his amazing tricks.
There will also be lots things going on in and around the church building and gardens - homemade food to eat or take away, freshly baked cakes, jams and pickles, seasonal plants, bulbs and herbs for sale, books, pictures and prints, a raffle and tombola stalls. Of course there will also be plenty of activities for the younger children.
This year, for the first time, Harvestival will include pedal car races in the street outside the church, with prizes awarded for the fastest lap of the specially laid out race track.
Everyone, young and old, is welcome to take part, or just come and cheer the pedallers on! Races begin at midday.
