Two productions this festive season for a younger audience
The Lyric theatre will be offering two shows this Christmas suitable for children.
Children’s theatre company Lyngo return to the Lyric to bring you a new interactive show, Snow Play, which invites children, aged 2-7 into a magical winter wonderland. Winter has arrived early and he’s sitting in Patrick’s house. The play is about Patrick’s attempts to get rid of Mr Winter (and lots and lots of snow) from inside his home!
Directed by Marcello Chiarenza, an artist and theatre specialist from Venice, starring Patrick Lynch, presenter of CBBC’s Razzle Dazzle and award - winning music writer Carlo “Cialdo” Capelli, successful Italian children’s theatre company, Lyngo aim to make the everyday captivating and enchanting. Children can throw snowballs, decorate a Christmas tree and even have the chance to be creative! After the show everyone will be invited to stay and make their very own treat to take home as a Christmas decoration; uniquely combining performance and play.
In addition, the streets of Hammersmith are paved with gold this Christmas as traditional pantomime returns to the Lyric. In a glitter filled festive feast Dick Whittington and his Cat are joined by a cake loving Bollywood Prince, the feisty Alice and of course Hammersmith’s Panto Dame, the delightfully delectable Sarah the Cook. The Lyric’s pantomime will be an entertainment extravaganza for the whole family.
