St Patrick's Night Party with
Murphy's Mob and The Mullin Family Band
A great St Patrick's Night Party is promised from this raucous high energy foot-stompin' Irish band - much loved by London audiences. Murphy's Mob will be playing plenty of blistering jigs and reels, along with your favourite Irish ballads and songs, to bring you one of the best St. Patrick's night's parties in town. Opening the night will be an amazing young five piece, featuring brothers and sisters from ages 9-16. The Mullin Family band is one of the most talented young traditional bands in London.

'The Gloss Club': Open-Mic Night
A new monthly 'open-mic' night for singer-songwriters, mc'd by the talented Irish singer/songwriter J. Owen. Each month the club will present a special guest as well as singers from the floor. To open the club, J. will play a set from his outstanding album Exiles. To book a slot, performers are asked to arrive at 7pm.

Mulkere's Big Session
Brendan Mulkere, Ireland's leading music teacher and 'tutor to the stars' presents 'The Mulkere Academy of Irish Music', featuring the talents of over 40 young players aged 7-18 years, playing fiddles, banjos, button boxes, whistles, flutes and bodhráns. This magical bunch will provide a spectacular night of family entertainment and you are sure to see some of the future stars of Irish music!!

The Irish Bookfair 2007
London's biggest annual Irish literary event includes a large sale of new, rare and second-hand Irish books, plus readings and talks by top Irish writers. This years highlights include an appearance from writer and journalist Fergal Keane, also songwriter, novelist and broadcaster Shay Healy (RTÉ 'Night Hawks'), writer Don Mullin ('Gordon Banks: A Hero Who Could Fly') and writer John Rogers ('For The Love of My Mother'). The Centre's poet-in-residence, Niall McDevitt, will lead a literary walk around Hammersmith (see below).

The William Butler Yeats Walk (around his recurring haunt of Hammersmith)
A 1½ hour walk, meeting at Georges Cafe, 36 Blythe Road, Hammersmith at 10.45am.
Find out about Yeats' bohemian upbringing in the artists' colony of Bedford Park, his undistinguished schooldays at Godolphin, his friendship with William Morris, his mentorship of Ezra Pound, his falling out with Sean O'Casey, his occult studies with the Order of the Golden Dawn and the legendary 'Battle of Blythe Road.'

Elizabeth McCrimmon brings you 'Images of Ireland' through oils and watercolours, Jeanie Rose Carter bring you Irish landscapes through tapestries and Monique Kelly brings photographs of Ireland's Holy Shrines.

'The Rare Oul Times'
The Nomadic Theatre Company returns to the Irish Centre by popular demand, with their play about the two notorious Dublin drinkers and literary figures, Brendan Behan and Patrick Kavanagh. The action takes place in John Ryan's famous Bailey Pub, in Dublin's Duke Street, where the outrageous pair discuss their successes, failures and love lives. Nostalgia, humour and song flow in equal proportions to the pints of the 'black stuff', as this excellent cast produce a unforgettable night of Irish theatre, that will send the you home with a tear in the eye and a smile on the lips - great stuff!!
