Discover your potential during Adult Learners' Week
Dance, fashion, alternative therapies, yoga, flower arranging, computing, languages, basic skills as well as advice on asserting yourself at work, planning your retirement and getting published as a writer are among the activities on offer during the borough's annual celebration of life-long learning.
Adult Learners' Week, which runs from 20 - 26 May, features a free activities
roadshow, which will be visiting a shopping centre, community centre, adult
education centre or hospital near you.
Come along and try one of the taster sessions being run by the council's adult education service or find out more about the range of courses and facilities which the council offers adult learners.
The details are:
Monday 22 May
10.30am - 3.30pm at Charing Cross Hospital, Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith. Taster sessions and demonstrations, including yoga, flower arranging, aromatherapy, Alexander technique.
3.30 - 5.30pm at the Macbeth Centre, Macbeth Street, Hammersmith. How to manage your boss - brief, light-hearted advice session on asserting yourself at work.
Tuesday 23 May
3.30 - 5.30pm at the Macbeth Centre, Macbeth Street, Hammersmith. Planning your retirement - advice session.
Wednesday 24 May
10.30am - 3.30pm at the Masbro Centre, 87 Masbro Road, West Kensington. A day of arts and crafts taster sessions.
10.30am - 12.30pm at Old Oak Community Centre, Braybrook Street, East Acton. Keep fit and have fun - try line dancing and Egyptian dancing.
Thursday 25 May
11.00am - 2.30pm at the Media Café, 61 Bryony Road, Shepherds Bush. Computer session - make greeting cards on screen and find out how to shop on the internet.
3.30 - 5.30pm at the Macbeth Centre, Macbeth Street, Hammersmith. How to get published - advice for aspiring adult and children's authors from published writers Susannah Gretz and Alison Sage.
Friday 26 May
11.00am - 3.30pm at Kings Mall shopping centre, King Street, Hammersmith. Taster sessions and demonstrations, including Egyptian dance, salsa, flower arranging, aromatherapy and fashion show.
7.00pm at the Macbeth Centre, Macbeth Street, Hammersmith. Celebration of adult learning with music and dance performances, readings and a fashion show. Achievement awards will be presented to students.
Tony Woodward, the council's head of adult education, said: "Adult Learners' Week is a chance for residents, regardless of their age or background, to find out how they can learn new skills, improve their career prospects or simply have fun and meet new people."
