Borough Commander appeals to residents to use the service helping to combate crime.
There have been 350 arrests in London so far this year as a direct result of calls to Crimestoppers. The charity that rewards callers for providing information anonymously about crime is continuing to prove its contribution to making the capital a safer place.
With 10 arrests a week, the 0800 555 111 number is helping to prevent and solve crimes that affect Londoners. Significant Crimestoppers-led arrests in London this year have included 11 for murder, 22 for assault, 33 for burglary and 135 for drugs.
There have also been a number of important arrests for firearms offences, robbery and arson. Crimestoppers is not able to publish specific success stories because of its guarantee to protect the caller.
Metropolitan Police Service Borough Commander Heather Valentine said:
“People who call Crimestoppers are helping us to prevent and solve crime in Hammersmith & Fulham Borough. In many cases the information we receive from Crimestoppers is not known to us from other sources and can provide the missing link in an investigation.
“I appeal to those people who have information but don’t want to approach us directly to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to help make Hammersmith & Fulham Borough a safer place.”
