Fun had dressing up at Larmenier and Sacred Heart Primary School
Pupils at Larmenier and Sacred Heart Primary School, in Hammersmith, got into the spirit of their school's book week by dressing up as their favourite fictional characters.
They paraded their homemade costumes in assembly on Friday (4 May) and pupils had to identify and recall 20 of the characters afterwards.
Other activities last week included visits by author Maggie Fergusson, who has written a biography of Orkneys poet George Mackay Brown, and an editor who explained her role to the children.
Pupils wrote book reviews, made bookmarks and took part in a poetry competition. A book sale was held each afternoon.
Headteacher Sister Hannah Maria Dwyer said, "All the book character costumes were original and it was great fun to enjoy the huge efforts made by all the children and their parents."
