All proceeds from Ravenscourt Recipes goes straight to H & F Foodbank
Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School has published a cookbook to raise funds for the Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank.
The cookbook, called Ravenscourt Recipes contains over 100 recipes from pupils, parents, teachers and friends of the primary school. The recipes are wide-ranging: from cakes to bake with your kids and easy children's meals, to sophisticated dinner party offerings.
The book features contributions from a number of food professionals, including food writer Tom Parker Bowles, restaurateur Oliver Peyton, and L'Amorosa owner and chef Andy Needham.
Byron founder Tom Byng offers "A proper hamburger" and Olympic rowing medallist Alan Campbell suggests a 15-minute pasta dish to provide energy after a day's training.
There are also recipes from local restaurants and businesses including Mackens, Leith's, Sam's Brasserie and Princess Victoria.
Ravenscourt Recipes has raised more than £900 for the Foodbank so far. The RPPS children have been supporting the Foodbank for over a year now, holding a monthly food collection as well as fundraising.
Daphine Aikens of Hammersmith & Foodbank says: "In one year, they have donated 1,352 kg of food, equivalent to 3,218 meals - 7.7% of the total number we distributed in the most recent financial year.
" We are very grateful for all the support. The cookbook is a great initiative - as well as a very useful thing to own!"
Copies of the cookbook costs £10 each and available from L'Amorosa, 278 King Street. All proceeds go directly to the Foodbank.
