New Office Block Approved in Ravenscourt Road

Charity looks for tenant before building begins

Plans by a local charity to build a new multi-million pound office block at Latymer House, 2 Ravenscourt Road, have been approved.

The plans, from Hammersmith United Charities will mean the demolition of existing industrial buildings and the construction of a new £2.4 million three storey office building designed by Barr Gazetas Architects.

Hammersmith United Charities provides sheltered housing for elderly people at two local sites, Sycamore House and John Betts House, and any income from the new offices will go towards these and other projects within the borough.

Stuart Sessions, the charity's Clerk to the Trustees, says: " We have to make sure that any investment we make means the best possible value, so we aim to find a tenant before we start work on the building, rather than risk it sitting empty for months."

The new building will offer around 1,600 square feet of office space, with three car parking spaces, 30 bicycle spaces and landscaping around the edges.
