Hammersmith Post Office Set To Close
Branch inside WH Smith to shut due to Kings Mall redevelopment

The Post Office have confirmed that their main branch in Hammersmith is going to close. They say that they have been informed by WH Smith that the premises they currently use at their site in Kings Mall will no longer be available due to the redevelopment of the shopping centre.
The branch will close on Saturday 8 August. The Post Office have described the closure as temporary but given no indication of a likely reopening date or even if there will be a branch at the site following the redevelopment.
They say they are advertising for any potential retail partners interested in running a branch in the area.
Andy Slaughter, the MP for Hammersmith, says he has been assured by the Post Office that a new branch would be opening in the town centre but he points out that, despite them being aware of the likely closure of WH Smith for five months, they are not yet able to specify a location.
The nearest alternative branches would be the King Street Post Office at 168 King Street and the Shepherd’s Bush Road Post Office at 146 Shepherd’s Bush Road.
A WHSmith spokesperson said, “We can confirm that the WHSmith store in Hammersmith will be closing at the beginning of August owing to the landlord’s redevelopment plans. We’d like to thank all our local customers for shopping with us; they can continue to buy our great range of products and access Post Office services at our nearby store in Westfield London Shopping Centre.”
We have asked the Post Office for comment and await a response.
