Residents fear impact of 67 new homes in Hammersmith

Hammersmith housing development traffic worries

Having seen off the threat of the 'squashed strawberry' building, Hammersmith residents fear a new 67 home development by Linden London may cause extra traffic and noise.

The developer has submitted a planning application for 63-75 Glenthorne Road.

Linden London hopes to build 67 one, two and three beds apartments on the central Hammersmith site.

The proposals also include provision for fifteen new car parking spaces.

Among the residents groups that have expressed concern are the Cambridge Grove and Leamore Street Residents' Association, the Brackenbury Residents Association and the Hammersmith Society, as well as the Hammersmith and Fulham Historic Buildings Group.

Labour Hammersmith and Fulham councillor Stephen Cowan said a date had not yet been set for the planning application to be heard.

He said: "My fellow ward councillors and I have been working with residents on this matter and met with the developer earlier this year to hear of their plans."
